2 Teaching Assistants – SEN – Level 3 – Grade 7
Required as soon as possible, two enthusiastic and well qualified Teaching Assistants. The governors wish to appoint two Teaching Assistants to provide support for students with physical disabilities so that they are able to access a full school life in order to progress and develop. Achievement of SEN students has improved in recent years but we cannot become complacent and need to develop our provision further, making full use of all available resources whilst meeting the statutory requirements for appropriate SEN provision.
The successful applicants will be employed to work 29.35hrs term time + 5 days worked during periods of school closure and will join a strong and supportive department that is dedicated to supporting the students of the school.
Our most recent Ofsted inspection (February 2022) reiterated the strengths that had been confirmed in the previous report (2017) and are firmly embedded across our school. The inspection team noted that ‘pupils are proud to attend’ Elton with an established culture of ‘high aspirations for what pupils can achieve’. Our students achieve well, with the inspectors being particularly impressed with the climate for learning and behaviour of our students – their ‘positive behaviour at all times is characteristic of the respectful culture of this school and their positive conduct reflects leaders’ high standards’.
We have a strong system of staff training in place aimed at developing the very best practice while we have a constant focus on ensuring that all of our team feel supported to give of their best and to have a work life balance. We pride ourselves on taking a proactive approach to promoting the wellbeing of everyone in our school community, and to ensuring a work / life balance for our staff.
The progress that has been made across the school is not through chance or by accident, but is due to a relentless focus on teaching and learning, while developing the talents of an outstanding team of staff.
The school has excellent transport links with the M60, M61, M62 and M66 Motorways crisscrossing the area plus the Metrolink Light Rapid Transit system with a fast and frequent service from Bury centre through Manchester city centre to East Didsbury.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
